Get to KNOW CAL

Pragmatic Leadership

Over the last five years, I have made the residents of Northern Utah my top priority while serving in the Utah House of Representatives. I have gotten to know many of our great residents, and we’ve worked hard to improve our communities. I am humbled by the support I have received over the last several years. I hope to earn your support to continue serving you as the next senator for District 4.

There is much work to do, and I want to tackle our challenges through pragmatic, conservative leadership. We need to get back to the basics. As your senator, I will focus on preserving our quality of life, bringing high-paying jobs to our region, and improving our education system.

I am willing to continue the work I started for Northern Utah by serving in the state senate and promise to continue being a voice for you and our families.

MEET CAL

My wife, Dawnell, and I moved to the district over 30 years ago following my military service in Desert Storm. We have lived not only in Ogden but Roy and now West Haven. We both count ourselves lucky to call this beautiful place home and love raising our family here – which now includes two gorgeous grandchildren!

I was raised in the small town of Monticello, Utah, and am grateful to be the son of a diesel mechanic and school cafeteria cook who taught me the value of an honest day’s work. I’ve taken their lessons to heart while serving in the Legislature. Building a prosperous future for my family and our community was at the heart of my decision to run for the state legislature in 2018 and remains my driving motivation as I run for the Senate.

From my military service to coaching youth sports and volunteering at my kids’ school, I have always enjoyed actively engaging in our community. I hope I have earned your trust to continue serving you. Finally, I would love to hear from you. We’re neighbors, and I know that the best representation of our families begins with you. Please reach out, and I look forward to seeing you on the campaign trail this year.

  • Affordable Housing

Every Utah family deserves a chance at the American Dream of Homeownership. As your next Senator, I will prioritize policies that put homeownership back in reach for our kids and grandkids.

  • Education

Every Utah child deserves an education that sets them up for future success. Our kids went through a lot during the COVID-19 pandemic, and many are still playing catch-up. As your next Senator, I will prioritize education policy that prepares our kids for success.

  • Economic Development

I want more high-paying jobs in Northern Utah that provide economic stability for our families. As your next Senator, bringing economic growth directly to our communities will be a top priority.
